Learning to unlearn.
Learning is one of the most difficult things we do in life. We are all so comfortable where we are at that the idea of learning anything new makes us uncomfortable.
I can't blame us for feeling that. Learning requires us to destruct whatever we've built and then start again, sometimes right from the foundation and sometimes maybe just the top floors.
Unlearning also means accepting that there's a better way to do it. So when we're shown that way especially by someone else, it feels as if they know better than you. That's not a good feeling to have. It makes you feel smaller.
From all this, I've just realised that only an open mind will allow us to learn and grow. Accepting that there's always going to be someone who knows something better than you and someone who knows lesser. It's our duty as humans to accumulate knowledge and share it.
That's what I'm trying to do and I'll be honest, it's super frustrating. I lose my mind at least 10 times a day but when I finally learn something new or teach something new, the sense of achievement beats everything else, even the stress.
